The City prides itself on our efforts to stay transparent and keep the community informed. Between newspaper postings, City Facebook postings, the LED sign out front of City Hall, postings on City Hall entry doors, Council meetings, and even this monthly newsletter, we try to cover all the bases. Did you know that we have an online service though, too, to help notify you of important updates? You decide what you want to be notified about. We can let you know about things like the availibility of the monthly Council meeting agenda, a Downtown Summer Concert Series reminder, community safety issues such as flood or severe weather alerts, and more. So how do you sign up? Visit www.CityofVassar.org and select the ‘NOTIFY ME’ (envelope) icon in the middle of the page. From  there you will be prompted to create an account. Then you can check the box in front of the topics you want to be informed about. You can even set your preference on the way the information is relayed to you-either via text or email. If you are more of a face-to-face type of information gatherer; we have an option for you now as well. I will be hosting coffee hours the last Tuesday of each month. You will be able to find me at the Christmas Café on these Tuesdays from 9 AM until Noon. The coffee is on me so stop in and say hello!
